The Mack A-series was produced from 1950-1953.  As a companion to the L-series, it is often mistaken for its more common larger brother by those unfamiliar with Macks.  It replaced the E-series, and both A and L were in  turn replaced by the famous B-series in 1954.

‘A’ Macks are easily distinguished by their one piece windshields.  They also have a smaller grille and nose which becomes obvious when seen beside the larger L-series.

As owner of 505A #1001, I’ve taken an interest in the rare ‘A’ and aim to collect photos of as many as possible.
